There are policies and procedures that must be followed at both Fairhaven Park and Freedom Park in order for Sykesville Baseball to continue to have use of these spaces.
Parking
Parking at Fairhaven Park is limited. There are three designated parking areas (see map below for more detail):
- The Overflow Parking Lot next to Field 5.
This is a grass lot with a walking path that will bring you into Fairhaven Park right next to Field 5. - The Upper Parking Lot next to the Clubhouse.
Be sure to leave enough room between rows of parked cars for two "lanes" of traffic to make it easier for people to back in or out of spots when leaving, and allowing plenty of sight lines to see kids and families walking through the parking lot to and from cars. - The parking area next to Field 1 and the Football Field.
This parking lot is generously lent to us from Fogle’s Septic Services. In this parking lot Fogle’s stores and works on heavy equipment. The road going to the Field 1 (Fogle’s) lot is Fogle’s private road. Fogle’s trucks and vehicles have the right of way. Do not drive beyond the sign next to the Field 1 (Fogle’s) lot entrance.
Do not block other cars in when parking in all lots. If you are asked to move your vehicle by a volunteer Board member, please comply quickly and without argument.
Effective May 2024, the Carroll County Sheriff's Department will be present at games at Fairhaven Park during the week and on the weekends. Due to parking issues and disregard for the rules at Fairhaven Park, we are in jeopardy of losing the right to utilize the Fogel’s parking lot as well as access to any areas beyond the Clubhouse. Parents are blocking each other in, refusing to move cars when requested, driving down Fogel's road, and moving the cones to park in Fogel's Upper Lot. The pressure that our volunteer board members have experienced this year from spectators not being able to abide by the rules we are required to enforce has been too much to bear. We implore our Sykesville Baseball community to make every effort in helping us to correct this situation, so as not to continue to incur the cost of an officer being present at the fields.

Snack Shack
All teams have snack shack duty, and all teams are expected to supply enough staff to run the snack shack. Please abide by the following Snack Shack policies and procedures:
- Only snack bar volunteers may be in the Snack Shack.
- Volunteers must be 18 or over to handle cash/credit transactions.
- Children under 12 are prohibited from entering the Snack Shack in accordance with Carroll County Health Department regulations.
Volunteers over the age of 12 are eligible to work in the Snack Shack to earn service hours. Middle and High School students are responsible for tracking their own volunteer hours online at: https://ext.carrollk12.org/servicehours/. Please speak with the Board Member on duty to obtain the “supervisor” information – it will be that person’s name, e-mail address, and phone number.
